Brian Mncube
Director

 

Brian heads sales and business development at Spectrum. He is a member of South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) and South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC). Brian has sales and business development experience spanning more than 10 years covering the motor industry, information technology, business process outsourcing. He is a student of the acclaimed IMM graduate school of Marketing

Brian brings the exuberance of youth and his fresh outlook on sales and business development is helping propel Spectrum to new markets. His team contribution through his expertise in business to business sales has seen him help KIA Roodepoort reach KIA World Dealer of the Year status, Lynx Management Services a firm from Scotland with global ambitions helped to gain footing into South Africa and Africa. Brian is passionate about providing excellent customer services. He is always eager to find solution for clients and will explore alternative in providing the best solution and in a cost effective way.

 

Eric Wright
Managing Director

 

Eric Wright matriculated in 1980 at Durban High School in Durban, South Africa. After completing his National Service he began his career with the First National Bank Undergraduate Scheme (previously Barclays Bank), an accelerated advancement programme for young high flyers, and graduated at the University of South Africa with a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Business Management and Economics in 1988. He has attained several professional qualifications in the field of property development, and completed the Global Executive Development Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business in 2005.

Eric entered the property industry in 1991, managing large property portfolios for Absa. In 2002, he was tasked with outsourcing one of the largest units within that Bank. He successfully created eight black empowerment joint venture companies, sold them as going concerns and effectively “moved” 400 staff and related operating costs into these companies and converted a predominantly fixed cost structure of approximately R90m into a manageable variable cost structure. These going concerns earned some R75m in fee income within their first year and around R600m in the first five years of operation.

 

Patrick O'Connell
Executive Director

 

Patrick is registered as a Professional Associated Valuer and offers seventeen years of Valuation experience, including two years in the Local Authority environment. A product of ‘Maritzburg College, after completing his National Service, Patrick went on to qualify with a National Diploma in Property Valuation and focused his attentions largely on the Commercial, Industrial and Agricultural aspects of property Valuation. In 2005 he successfully completed the Property Development Programme at the UCT Graduate School of Business.

Patrick excelled in his career as a Valuer within Absa and was promoted to the position of Regional Manager for the areas of KwaZulu Natal, Free State and the entire Cape region, a position he held for six years. Here he consolidated a fragmented Commercial Valuations Division. During 2005 Patrick was part of a dynamic Senior Management team which successfully re-engineered the Commercial Valuation business within Absa, from running at a R13.5m annualised loss to the Bank, to a profitable unit within the Bank’s structures.

 

Fiona Nakalanzi
Non-Executive Director

 

Fiona holds a Bsc (Property Studies) and a South African Estate Agency Board Certificate. She is employed in Absa Bank’s Commercial Property Finance and Property Equity Investment division, and holds a Non-Executive Director position at Spectrum Valuation Services. As a property investment consultant, her responsibilities at ABSA include asset management (currently managing various commercial properties on behalf of Absa), business development, risk management, property feasibility studies, property acquisition and disposal, and portfolio management. In 2006 she obtained an award from the South Africa Property Owner’s Association (SAPOA) for best student.

Fiona is currently studying towards her Masters in Real Estate through the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, whereafter she will be an accredited professional member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
